2008 was a great year. It had its ups and downs which I won’t go into here, but I overall, it was great. Unfortunately having a great time hasn’t been conducive to blogging about it, therefore while my year was a roller coaster, my blog has stagnated.
But a series of events has recently provided me with the opportunity to address this stagnation So in the biggest comeback ever launched from an AC Seated Coach on the Koyna Express between Mumbai and Pune (did I mention that I’m writing this from a train in India?) From The Horizon is back. This does require me covering a large amount of material is a short amount of time, for which I have decided to employ a certain classic cinematic technique (recommended by my friend Scott – thank you Sir!). So sit tight, make yourself comfortable, and queue the 80s rock soundtrack…
(Apologies for certain creative freedoms I have taken with the dates in order to preserve the correct sequence of things)

For many people, visits to the field represent a chance to meet the beneficiaries of our programs and really get a feel for the difference which we’re making. Unfortunately I’ve chosen the wrong sector for this. Working in supply chain management means that a field trip only involves going to another office, in a remote area. The main difference is that the problems tend to be more complicated, and I’m more powerless to solve them!
